Broadwater Spillway Rubber Gate Replacement

Summary: This project consisted of installation of new inflatable rubber gates that are 11 and ½ feet high and 82 feet long, each. Work consisted of removing the existing gates, installation of the new gates, installation of new air control piping and valves.  As well as concrete coring, concrete demolition, grouting, bulkhead design and installation, dewatering and access and safety improvements to the dam. The project required close coordination with the Department of Natural Resources on scheduling and removal of the gates in a staged approach to allow for continued and uninterrupted operations of the dam and generating facilities.
