Meet The Team
Neil W. VanAmburg, P.E.
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. VanAmburg has been actively working in the construction industry for over 25 years with a vast majority of his experience in large Dam projects. He has completed projects ranging from less than $1 million to projects worth $600 million. On many of these projects he worked directly with Mr. Worden. As CEO, Mr. VanAmburg oversees all operations for NW Construction, Inc. and is involved in all of the organization’s executive decisions. Mr. VanAmburg is also responsible for Company Safety and Quality, Human Resources, Administration, Business Management, Estimating, Project Management, Marketing, and Technological Enhancements.
Neil A. Worden
President
Mr. Worden has been actively working in the heavy civil construction industry for over 25 years. Mr. Worden has worked on projects ranging from less than $1 million to completing contracts over $180 million. On many of these projects he worked directly with Mr. VanAmburg. As President, Mr. Worden oversees all Field Operations for NW Construction, Inc. and is involved in all of the organization’s executive decisions. Mr. Worden is also responsible for Company Safety and Quality, Estimating, Scheduling, Job Selection, Project Superintendence and Equipment Management.
Casey Patterson
Vice President / Operations Manager
Mr. Patterson graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology and has been in the heavy civil construction industry since 2011 estimating and building construction projects throughout the Western United States with extensive experience in dam construction, earthwork, concrete structures, mass concrete, and water and wastewater treatment. As Vice President and Operations Manager Casey oversees all aspects of project acquisition and execution, closely working with and providing oversite to the project teams .
Erik Kirsch, P.E., P.L.S.
Director of Engineering Operations
Mr. Kirsch has 23 years combined experience in the fields of Heavy Civil Construction, Civil Design, Construction/Land Surveying, Land Development, and Construction Management on projects located throughout the United States and Canada. Mr. Kirsch has provided consulting services and training in these disciplines to several Civil Design firms, Heavy Civil Construction organizations, and has instructed at the university level. As Director of Engineering Operations, Mr. Kirsch’s responsibilities include training and oversight of company design standards in the areas of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Field Survey Techniques and Technology Implementation He provides project-based training to staff engineers in the areas of Construction Layout, GPS/Conventional Survey/Machine Control Instrumentation, Topographic Surveys, Quantity Measurement, 3-D Structure/Terrain Modeling, Quality Control, and As-built Preparation. Mr. Kirsch also assists with Estimating, Proposals, and Project Management operations.
Nate Knutson
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Knutson brings nearly two decades of financial expertise to his role as CFO, with a diverse background in public accounting and private industry experience in heavy civil construction and manufacturing. He graduated from Montana State University with a Masters in Professional Accountancy. His expertise extends to identifying and managing business risks while uncovering opportunities for growth. He simplifies complex financial concepts, helping project teams make informed decisions.
As CFO, Mr. Knutson responsibilities include financial reporting, project controls, and coordination with the management team. His approach to financial management is rooted in efficient processes and controls, with a focus on clearly defined goals and responsibilities for team members. Known for his ability to bring a smile to the workplace, Mr. Knutson values interactions with his coworkers and fosters a positive work environment, believing that a collaborative atmosphere is key to achieving company excellence.
Jon Alexander, SHRM-CP
Human Resources Manager
Mr. Alexander brings over a decade of Human Resources experience to his role as HR Manager. With a diverse background supporting retail, sales, technology and manufacturing environments throughout the US, he brings experience in organizational and leadership development, compliance, employee relations and recruiting. He graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design. At NW Construction, Mr. Alexander is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing HR programs, strategies, and initiatives. Mr. Alexander believes that transparency, feedback, trust and collaboration are key to driving a positive and successful team and culture.
Jevin Wallander, CISSP
Information Technology Manager
Mr. Wallander has over 14 years of experience in the IT field. With almost a decade of that experience in the construction industry, he has extensive knowledge of how to help a project run well. At NW Construction Mr. Wallander is responsible for the company's IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, including server management, procurement, documentation, training, and onboarding.
Shane Strozzi
Equipment Manager
Mr. Strozzi graduated from Montana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2015. Since then, he has traveled the United States assigned to numerous projects from Alabama to California and everywhere in between. Mr. Strozzi gained experience as a Project Engineer, Equipment Manager, and Project Manager on projects including a powerhouse, ash pond cleanup, data center design build, and border protection design build projects. At NW Construction, Mr. Strozzi will be responsible for the fleet maintenance program; purchasing, renting and selling of equipment; and supporting all projects as needed.
Brad Beaudry
Project Superintendent
Mr. Beaudry has been immersed in the Construction Industry since 2009 with extensive experience in the Dam and Bridge Construction industry. He holds multiple safety and construction industry certifications and often serves as the site safety representative and quality control manager on NWC projects. Mr. Beaudry has a wide range of expertise including concrete work, spillway demolition and construction, in-water-work, bridge construction, zoned embankments, foundation stabilization, cofferdams, dewatering, scheduling, project safety, submittals, estimating, cost controls and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers.
David Dempsey
Project Manager
Mr. Dempsey graduated from Montana State University with a BS in Construction Engineering Technology. He grew up around the heavy highway industry. Since graduating he has worked on federal projects ranging in size up to $300 million in Idaho, California, and Arizona. His responsibilities have included all facets of project management including safety management, schedule creation and updates, budgets, pay estimates, quantity tracking, submittals, RFI’s, change-orders, contract negotiations, procurement management, coordination of suppliers and subcontractors, quality control and surveying.
Abby Labahn
Project Manager
Ms. Labahn graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mining Engineering and Engineering Management. She has worked in the mining and civil industry since 2014, working as a design engineer before moving to the heavy civil construction industry in 2022. When working in engineering, she gained experience in mining, civil and water resources design, quality control testing and civil construction inspection. Her current responsibilities include all facets of project management including safety management, scheduling, cost controls, document controls, contract negotiations, procurement management, coordination of subcontractors, quality control and surveying.
Mike Corcoran
Project Manager / Estimator
Mr. Corcoran graduated from Montana State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology. Since then Mr. Corcoran has spent 15 years traveling the United States assigned to a wide variety of construction projects including extensive dam construction, reservoir expansion, wind farms, telecommunications, tunnel design and construction for mass transit and natural gas pipelines. Mr. Corcoran has estimated and managed projects up to $500 million in value.
Jennifer Goe
Office Manager
Ms. Goe has over 17 years of experience in the construction and engineering industries. At NW Construction she serves as the Office Manager and is also responsible for numerous aspects of financial reporting including accounts payable and payroll. Ms. Goe is detail-oriented and is known for handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
