East Boulder Stage 6 Embankment Raise and Tailings Storage Facility

Project Summary: The East Boulder Mine (EBM), owned and operated by Sibanye Stillwater (Stillwater), comprises an underground platinum and palladium mine, a Concentrator, a Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) and other ancillary facilities to support the operation. The mine is located approximately 16 miles from McLeod in Sweet Grass County, Montana. Mine infrastructure must be relocated and/or constructed to facilitate the expanded embankment footprint, including the following: Excavation, embankment, and HDPE liner installation for the new Mine Water Recycle Pond (MWRP), construction of a new MWRP Building, construction of the warehouse lift station, warehouse utilities relocation, site access road, stage 5 spillway, and stage 6 TSF embankment raise. The stage 6 TSF embankment raise work consists of grading existing run of mine material and placement of subsoil and topsoil materials followed by final reclamation and seeding.
