Stampede Dam Safety Modifications

Project Summary: Awarded the 2020 National Rehabilitation Project of the year by the Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO). This project was also Awarded the 2018 Geotechnical Project of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers as well as the Outstanding Achievement on Civil Engineering: Structural in 2019 by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The major components of work on this project included: raising of the dam crest structure with two parallel mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls, new concrete spillway construction including demolition of the existing concrete spillway, constructing saddle dikes and fence post repair. Other items of work included within this project are: tree clearing, cofferdam construction, construction of haul roads and use areas, constructing a two mile paved detour for public access to the reservoir, working within other various environmental work restrictions, and creating and implementing a restoration plan for all disturbed areas.
