Middle Piney Dam Reconstruction and Road Stabilization

Project Summary: 2023 ACG of Wyoming Safety Project of the Year. Reconstruction of the Middle Piney Dam in Sublette County, Wyoming. Middle Piney Reservoir is an existing facility that has significant safety of dam issues; with a 1919 state water right, the reservoir was considered too valuable to be lost and the Wyoming Water Development Commission working with the US Forest Service developed a plan to reconstruct the dam. In doing so, 3,370 acre-feet of water storage will be preserved and made available. The scope of work for this project includes excavation and reconstruction of the existing dam, installing cut-off trench, trench drain, seepage control, furnishing and installing new outlet works including control structure and building, terminal structures and all appurtenances. Installing a new spillway and appurtenances, providing and installing a new boat ramp and debris boom, site instrumentation and telemetry systems, complete site reclamation. Stabilization of USFS Road 10024.
