Yellowtail Dam Spillway

Project Summary: 2023 MCA Technical Merit Project of the year. The performed at the Yellowtail Dam Spillway project included the following: Remove and replace damaged portions of concrete along the crown of the 35-foot diameter spillway tunnel. Constructing a reinforced concrete slab on the spillway apron along the east side of the stilling basin, graded to drain into the river channel downstream. Furnish and install fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) grating system between the west stilling basin parapet wall and the adjacent cliff face. Design, furnish, and install a rockfall protection system along the cliff face to the west and south of the spillway stilling basin.
